This bulletin is for all Demco baseplates manufactured before January 22, 2013 for the 2008-2010 Saturn Vue (baseplate 9518218). The part number of this bulletin is 6061.For the safety of you and others on the roadways, you should install this kit immediately upon receipt.

It has come to our attention that some Saturn Vue vehicles may have inadequate construction in the frame horn area to allow sufficient support of Demco baseplates. Because of this Saturn design and the potential for detachment of a towed vehicle, Demco feels it is necessary to provide reinforcement brackets to support the Saturn frame to insure the strength needed to tow safely. Please be assured that there is not a problem with the Demco baseplate, but in order to provide our customers with the proper safety when towing, we feel it is imperative that we provide this kit to you at no charge. Because we know there will be a certain amount of labor time to install this kit, we are allowing three (3) shop hours for installation.
